#56: betting on you

My (pathetic) iCloud storage is about to burst if I still don't clear the photos in my camera roll but here's the thing: I don't know what can be cleared and what can not. But it's equally annoying to see the "Not Enough iCloud Storage Space" notification every time I plug my phone to a power source.

Hong Kong Disneyland Day 2:

The initial plan to swim was thwarted because of the morning rain but thankfully I managed to drag my lazy ass off bed (for the first time since I was a few months old I slept on a bunk bed) (when I was a few months old - 3 or 4 - I rolled down from the upper bed and was sent to the hospital but all I had was just a giant blue-black) and go for a run + cycle which I think was a very big effort made considering how running is the bane of my life and I will never voluntarily run for more than a kilometer.

My first ever morning workout ended at around 10am and then all of us went to One Dim Sum for brunch before heading to Ocean Park.

The sun burned through my clothes and into my skin with a vicious ferocity that made me genuinely fear hellfire.

It was really SUPER hot in Hong Kong I was perspiring almost every second and my clothes were soaked most of the time I really wanted to just submerge myself in a gigantic pool of ice water.

I was originally against the idea of Ocean Park because the last time I was there, there honestly weren't many things that caught my interest but this returning trip made me realize it wasn't because there weren't many things - I just wasn't exposed to these many things previously.

The only unfortunate regret was that I didn't get to take any rides because my cousins and sister are scaredy-cats. I genuinely wanted to try (even if 10 years of my life will be shaved afterward) all the thrilling, life-wrecking, stomach-churning rides but NONE of them wanted to brave the storm with me. So yeah I vowed the next time I'm there I'm gna ride every single ride.

Even though nothing exceptionally interesting happened because we mainly just watched animal shows, there was a short moment of positive embarrassment that had me leave a good impression on my second Ocean Park trip.

So we just concluded our short tour of the Arctic World (really, it wasn't called Arctic World but there were arctic animals inside so) and I was waiting for my cousins outside when this group of people started their street performance. Then toward the end of the show, one of the men invited me out to sorta join them in a........walking-in-circles session. I was, frankly speaking, feeling pretty honored because 1. the man wasn't Chinese - I assume he's either from the Philippines or Malaysian or some country where tanned men reside and 2. he was so smiley and cool and friendly but at the same time I was kinda embarrassed because the other people who joined in the circle were kids aged 4 or 5 or 6 and then there's me looking so big and giant towering over them.

Stills from Day 2:

001: Grand entrance of Ocean Park but somehow the skies look quite a bit gloomy.

002: I thought this would turn out to be quite an artistic shot but now that I'm looking at it again I'm thinking otherwise.

003: Buses - or things in general - like this interest me so much sometimes I secretly wonder if there's a part of me who's trained to appreciate art others can't.

004: This is so old-school although I can't really read the words in Chinese.

005: Every single time I'm seated in something that dangles from high above, the thought of "what if this thing drops and crashes and explodes into pieces" just comes into my mind and every time I have to use every single ounce of energy inside of me to convince myself I am a lucky person and nothing of that sort will happen to me.

006: But really, what if I'm SO lucky that my carriage is the Chosen One to malfunction and..........what if?

007: I love this Hulk mask so much just because G-Dragon had the exact same one but truth be told, it hides your features so well and makes you look so coolly badass I almost wanted to buy one and hang it at home but my parents will probably just shake their heads at me.

008: VERY tempted to buy Where's Wally? books but thank god I had everything under control but Where's Wally? is exactly the kind of puzzle books I absolutely adore.

009: Partial (night) skyline of Hong Kong I suppose?

010: My cousin insisted I take a photo of this vessel because it carries vehicles and ferries them across whatever sea and she found it so amusing and I just wanted to tell her: I've seen bigger ships ferrying more vehicles than this when I was 8.

011: Find Wally.

012: Ta-da!!!!!!!!!

013: Look at how cool the mask made me (hahaha I am just a very uncool person but whatever) plus GD also had the exact pose. Or if you put it the other way, I copied his pose but whatever.

By the time we reached our hotel I was once again drained and knocked out almost as soon as I finished showering. My hair was still dripping wet but I just couldn't be bothered. But I love all the walking around and sore legs/muscles because I feel like I'm actually doing something. Anything.
